Congratulations, SafetyChain Customer Sokol & Company on SQFI Achievement Award

We are delighted to share the news that SafetyChain customer Sokol and Company has been awarded SQFI Practitioner of the Year by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).

John Novak, President, Sokol & Company was the recipient of the award, which is among three achievement awards given annually to recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to and improve the SQFI program’s global mission to provide a rigorous and credible food safety management system. Finalists in each category were honored and recognized during the recent 2017 SQF International Conference in Dallas, Texas.

SQFI Practitioner of the Year award is given to an SQF Practitioner or an Individual within an SQF Certified facility or company who has demonstrated accomplishments in driving continuous growth and has taken their facility or company above and beyond the SQF Program.

SafetyChain sponsored a panel discussion at the recent Food Safety Consortium in Schaumberg, IL, and Bridgette Kreuger, who oversees food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at Sokol & Company participated on the panel along with Peter Begg, Scott W. Brooks, and Melanie Neumann. The panelists explored the topic of "Today’s Inspection and Audit Reality." Discussion centered on the evolving rapid pace of food industry inspection and audit protocols, and how they relate to customer demands, GFSI, and FSMA. During the presentation, Brigitte shared her experiences leveraging the benefits of technology to dramatically improve their company's processes as well as ensure Sokol and Company's everyday readiness for inspections and audits.

Sokol & Company, also known as Solo Foods, is an SQF Level 3-certified manufacturer of food ingredients, makers of Solo and Baker dessert fruit and nut fillings, marshmallow creme and toasted marshmallow creme, Simon Fischer nut butters, marzipan, almond paste and Chun’s Asian cooking sauces. Solo Foods, based in Countryside, IL. is a privately held subsidiary of Sokol & Company which provides food manufacturing, packaging and processing to retail and industrial markets as well as anchovy products packaged under the Certified Savory brand.
